Spirituality in Cyborgs ?

Spirituality in Cyborgs ?

Japan is one of the cultures where inanimate objects and non-humans to have a soul to some extent. This characteristics feature is highlighted by author Alex Ross in his book “Industries of the Future” for the reason that Japan would be one of the first societies to accept Robots into their life.

Interestingly the recent article on WaitButWhy on NeuraLink brings to the fore the very realistic possibility of Brain Machine Interface (BMI) creating the first generation of Cyborgs in its true sense within 2100.

We are all partial Cyborgs now for the reason that we do most of our communication through devices. So the flow as explained in the blog very elegantly is this

Sender Brain -> Sender Mobile -> Sender Chat Window -> Server <- Reciever Chat Window <- Reciever Mobile <- Reciever Chat Window <- Reciever Brain

So with BMI, the integration of our brains to a computer with extraordinary computing power will make us a super powerful cyborg.

This got me thinking in many directions. One of which I am articulating to tickle my and your thoughts here.

The year 2100

AI and BMI Revolution

Humans as a species are more intelligent

Preventive Healthcare and Genetics based precision medicines

Humans are living longer life. 120+ years

Mars and Moon Based Inter-planetary species

Thanks to space explorations endeavors by NASA, SpaceX and many more entities

Digital Out of Body Existence

Humans might be able to upload their entire memory into a computer and exist beyond their physical body as an intelligent memory-based digital entity.

22nd Century Spirituality?

With all these extraordinary leaps in technology and biology will the philosophies of religions and spirituality hold good?

Will the 2100 generation look at spirituality for an answer of purpose?

With so many insights into Brain and its activity, will enlightenment be decoded by science?

Can reincarnation be proved/disproved by Science?

These are some of the thoughts which I plan to research on and share here as I get deep into them.
